Jul . 10-11, 2016 KCCI - eBulletin Govt. offers tax incentives to new industrialists The govt. will provide attractive incentives to industrialists establishing new industries and creating employment opportunities. The govt. has given tax relief on a large scale through the Finance Tax Bill 2016, the 2001 Ordinance, for establishing industries. In this regard, instead of one, 2% tax relief will be given to those who create 50 new employment opportunities through Section 64-B, while 40% exemption in tax will be given to an industrialist. This exemption will be applied from June 30, 2016 to June 30, 2019. The News – Mon. He said that the prices of fertilizer were brought down by PKR 250 a bag during the last few months and have now been further reduced by PKR 400 a bag. Out of the RLNG to be supplied to the SNGPL under the LNG Supply Agreement, the GOP has allocated 85 MMCFD to Rousch Power and 30 MMCFD to Fauji Kabirwala Power Company on as and when available basis. The dam was slated to be completed in April-May 2015. Recent reports suggest that 47% of the Dam’s physical work stands completed, and the federal government is said to have allocated PKR 3Bn for Nai Gaj dam in the FY16-17 budget that would mostly be diverted towards payment of liabilities of contractors. As a result, the actual project’s cost would remain uncovered and prone to escalation. The Narcotics Control Division revealed that Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were co-operating in the fight against Illicit trafficking in Narcotics Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursor Chemicals. Chart of the Day Customs values on import of light fittings/fixtures revised The Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi has revised customs values on the import of light fittings/fixtures. The values of various types of light fittings/fixtures have considerably increased in the international market as compared to the determined Customs values of light fittings/fixtures of different origins vide Valuation Ruling No 638/2014, dated 17-02-2014. The impugned Valuation Ruling is considerably old and requires revision in line with the prevailing prices in the international market. BR – Sun. Stay orders pull agriculture tax collection down in Punjab Punjab’s agriculture income tax (AIT) collection fell short by 33%, or PKR 750Mn, in the outgoing fiscal year, apparently because of increasing number of court stay orders against the levy. The Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) collected PKR 1.55Bn against the target of PKR 2.3Bn during FY15-16. The target for FY16-17 has again been set at PKR 2.3Bn.
