Most of the drug related cases are on drug use (60%) followed by Possession (30%) Domestic violence cases incresed nearly two folds, between 2014 - 2015 from 186 to 338 cases. 7% 2015 9% 6% In 2015 highest number of logged cases are about Theft (28%) and Narcotic drug cases (13%). 61% 6% 11% Out of 935 assault cases logged, 195 were by group of persons. In 2015 a total of 5,827 persons were detained by police due to reported crimes. 95% of detainees were males and 71% were males in youth age-groups 18-34 years. This showed a decline of 1.3 percent in the fish catch compared to 2014.

In terms of bed capacity, 60% is concentrated in the three atolls Kaafu (37%), A.Dh (16%) and AA (9%) closer to the capital Male’.
