State of Kuwait Central Statistical Bureau News Release Foreign Trade Statistics , July-September 2016 11/12/2016 Exports decreased 9.5% in 2016 July-September According to the provisional foreign trade statistics results, in July-September 2016; exports were 3,624 Million KD with a 9.5% decrease and imports were 2,239 Million KD with a 1% decrease compared with July-September 2015. In July-September 2016, balance of trade was 1,385 Million KD while it was 1,741 Million KD in July-September 2015 with a 20.5% decrease. In the same period, volume of trade decreased 6.4% compared with the third quarter of 2015. Trade of volume was 5,862 Million KD in July-September 2016 while it was 6,265 Million KD in July-September 2015. Coverage rate was 161.9% in July-September 2016, while it was 177% in July-September 2015. In the third quarter of 2016, Coverage rate (excluding oil) was 16.1% while it was 17.8% in the third quarter of 2015. State of Kuwait Central Statistical Bureau News Release Foreign Trade Statistics , July-September 2016 11/12/2016 Mineral fuels and oil were forefront in exports according to chapters For July-September 2016, the top categories for exports were “Mineral fuels and oils” (3,263 Million KD) with share of 90% and then “Organic chemicals” (105.9 Million KD) 2.9%, “Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling-stock, parts thereof” (52 Million KD) 1.4%. Boilers, Machinery and Mechanical Appliances were forefront in imports At the same period, “Boilers, Machinery and Mechanical Appliances; Parts Thereof” has by far the highest value imported at (329.7 Million KD) with share of 14.7% and then, “Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling-stock, parts thereof” (287 Million KD) 12.8%, “Electrical Machinery and Equipment and Parts Thereof; Sound Recorders and Reproducers, Television Image and Sound Recorders and Reproducers, and Parts and Accessories of such Articles” (245.4 Million KD) 11%. State of Kuwait Central Statistical Bureau News Release Foreign Trade Statistics , July-September 2016 11/12/2016 India was the main partner countries in non-oil exports In July-September 2016, the main partner country for non-oil exports was India with (58.1 Million KD). For exports, India was followed by Saudi Arabia (43.7 Million KD), UAE (41 Million KD) and China (40.1 Million KD). The top country for Kuwait’s imports was China (336.8 Million KD), records for imports range from United States of America (227.2 Million KD), UAE (180 Million KD) and Japan (147.2 Million KD) Exports to GCC countries decreased by 9.9% As compared with the same quarter of the previous year, exports to the GCC countries were 110.9 Million KD, while it was 123.1 Million KD, and decreased by 9.9%. The share of the GCC countries was 3.1% in July-September 2016 while it was also 3.1% in July-September 2015. The share of Industrial supplies in imports was 27.7% During the same period, 27.7% of imports products were Industrial supplies. As compared with the same period of the previous year; Industrial supplies increased 5.7% and Capital goods increased by 19.9% while Food and beverages decreased by 13.1%.
