PUBLIC INFORMATION NOTICE April 24 , 2017 The Delegation of the National Bank of Kazakhstan took part in the IMF Spring Meetings The National Bank of Kazakhstan’s delegation headed by Mr. Galimzhan Pirmatov, Deputy Governor of the National Bank, took part in the Joint Spring Meetings of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Washington from the 21 st through 23rd of April 2017. The National Bank of Kazakhstan’s representatives attended the Plenary of the International Monetary and Financial Committee, the meeting of the Swiss Constituency in the IMF and World Bank, and the presentation of the IMF bulletin “Regional Economic Outlook: Middle East and Central Asia”. Taking place on the margins of the event was a meeting of Galimzhan Pirmatov with Mr. Tao Zhang, IMF Deputy Managing Director, which discussed the state of affairs and prospects of cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the IMF. The delegation of the National Bank of Kazakhstan also took part in meetings with Mr. Miroslaw Panek, Executive Director of the Swiss Constituency in the IMF, IMF departmental directors, departmental directors of international rating agencies, in the course of which the parties exchanged views on the current situation on financial markets. For reference: The IMF Spring Meetings are annually held and provide an effective platform for meetings among governors of central banks, international financial organizations to offer an opportunity to compare efforts with regard to major areas of the development of regional and global economies.

The National Bank of Kazakhstan annually participates in the Spring Meetings with a view to sharing views on the activities of central banks in the near and far abroad , to fostering strong links and building up a relationship with international financial institutions.
