  1. MENA Morning Report Monday , September 25, 2017 Overview Regional Markets: The trading activity within the MENA region continues to remain sluggish as there is lack of catalysts to drive the markets. Oil prices rising above $56 per barrel is also not boosting the sentiments as investors are focused on domestic factors/developments. For the regional markets, five out of the eight indexes closed in red, while one in green and two were closed for the day. UAE markets closed on a negative note as Dubai and Abu Dhabi were both down by 0.9% and 0.3% respectively for the day. The trading volumes have dropped significantly during the session as there is lack of conviction, which is keeping market participants on the sideline. Qatar closed on a positive note as it was up by 0.4% for the day, fourth consecutive session of gains after witnessing downward pressure due to the ongoing geopolitical crisis. Egypt closed on a negative note as it was down by 0.6% for the day, in line with the sentiments seen in the broader regional peers. Kuwait closed lower by 0.8% for the day, continuing the selling pressure after declining by 0.9% in the previous week. The performance in the past few sessions has erased the gains to turn into negative territory for the month of September. Bahrain closed lower by 0.3% for the day as sentiments were weak across the regional markets. Saudi Arabia and Oman were closed for the day. International Markets: At the time of writing this report, sentiments in Asian markets are negative as Hang Seng and Shanghai are down by 1.1% and 0.4% respectively, while Nikkei is up by 0.6%.
