  1. MENA Morning Report Wednesday , April 04, 2018 Overview Regional Markets: MENA region closed on a negative note as the lack of fresh cues coupled with first quarter earnings season is keeping investors on the sideline. Further, the rising trade war between US and China is also weighing on global equities and is impacting the sentiments of the regional markets. UAE markets ended on a mixed note as Dubai was down by 0.2%, while Abu Dhabi was up by 0.1% for the day. Dubai index has continued to remain under pressure as the market has lost around 8.0% during the year, becoming the worst performer within the region. Saudi Arabia started the session on a weak note but the index recovered the losses to turn positive for the day after three consecutive sessions of losses. The index was up by 0.2% for the day, but remains in negative territory for the week with losses of 0.9%. Kuwait closed on a negative note as it was down by 0.5% for the day, the third consecutive session of losses after that the market regulator introduced the new stock exchange reform from the beginning of the second quarter. Egypt closed on a negative note as it was down by 1.1% for the day, erasing most of the gains recorded in the previous sessions of the week. Qatar closed marginally lower by 0.1% for the day, marginal pullback after rising in the previous two sessions. Bahrain was down by 0.3%, while Oman was up by 0.5% for the day, helping the index in recovering the losses to turn flat for the week. International Markets: US markets ended on a positive note as DJIA, S&P and NASDAQ were all up by 1.7%, 1.3% and 1.0% respectively for the day. European markets closed on a negative note as FTSE, CAC and DAX closed lower by 0.4%, 0.3% and 0.8% respectively for the day.
