  1. MENA Morning Report Tuesday , July 25, 2017 Overview Regional Markets: MENA region ended the session on a positive note after remaining subdued for the two previous sessions. Second quarter earnings have been the main catalyst for the markets to end on a positive note as it provides optimism about the economic growth prospects going forward despite the geopolitical uncertainties. Further, oil prices gradually rising higher might have also supported the regional markets during the day. Qatar was the best performing index as it was up by 0.8% for the day, which was mostly supported by buying interest in banks. The index has rebounded strongly as it surged by 6.1% during the month of July to come closer to the pre-crisis levels. UAE markets ended on a positive note as both Dubai and Abu Dhabi were up by 0.1% each for the day. Saudi Arabia closed lower during the session despite the positive sentiments seen across the region. The index was mostly dragged lower by disappointing earnings from Mobily, which was worse than market expectation as the quarterly losses widens during the first quarter. Egypt closed up by 0.3% for the day, in line with the sentiments seen in the regional markets. Kuwait closed higher by 0.3% for the day, extending the weekly gains. Bahrain closed higher by 0.3%, while Oman closed marginally lower by 0.1% for the day. International Markets: US markets closed on a mixed note as DJIA and S&P were down by 0.3% and 0.1% respectively, while Nasdaq was up by 0.4%. European markets closed in red as FTSE and DAX were down by 1.0% and 0.3% respectively, while CAC was up by 0.2%. At the time of writing this report, Asian markets have opened on a mixed note as Nikkei and Shanghai are down by 0.1% each, while Hang Seng is down by 0.03%.
