2. Malaysia 's net international investment position at the end of December 2017 recorded net liabilities of RM19.3 billion (Q3 2017: net asset position RM21.5 billion). Total financial assets position recorded RM1,687.8 billion and total liabilities registered RM1,707.1 billion. At the end of fourth quarter 2017, Direct Investment Abroad (DIA) position recorded RM522.5 billion (Q3 2017: RM554.0 billion) and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) position in Malaysia accounted for RM565.0 billion (Q3 2017: RM558.7 billion). Portfolio investment showed net liabilities position of RM330.7 billion from RM331.0 billion in previous quarter. Meanwhile, the stock of other investment posted a net liabilities position of RM63.3 billion. The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia as at 31 December 2017 stood at RM414.5 billion (Q3 2017: RM427.7 billion).
