3. Producer Price Index in Iran Aban 1395 (1390 = 100) The Producer Price Index (PPI) went up 0.9 percent in Aban 1395 following an increase of 0.5 percent in Mehr 1395. The index level of 226.6 was 4.9 percent higher than in Aban 1394. For the first 8 months of 1395, the PPI edged up 3.2 percent, compared to the similar period in 1394. This index moved up 3.3 percent for the 12 months ended in Aban 1395. Agriculture, forestry and fishing: In Aban, a 0.9-percent increase in the prices of this group can be traced to the growths in the indices for sesame, eggplant, potato, tomato, corn, saffron, walnut, strawberry, egg, honey, Caspian Sea fish and hydrothermal fish. In contrast, prices for vetch, cucumber, onion, leaf vegetables, pome fruits, kiwifruit and poultry went down. Manufacturing: The Manufacturing group index moved up 1.4 percent, which was mostly due to the rises in the indices for slaughter cattle and calf, slaughter sheep, leaven, soya, fustian fabric, moquette and insulation of car, jet propulsion fuel (type 4), raffinate, manufacture of basic chemicals, manufacture of plastics and synthetic rubber in primary forms, cosmetic products, cardiovascular medicines, hormone medicines, livestock and poultry vaccine, car tire, rubber glove, sponge, integral and foam, glass wares, cement, concrete, manufacture of basic iron and steel, staple copper, aluminium ingot, zinc ingot, 1
4. burrow , metal barrel, copper cable, forklifts, cooler, sewing machine, exhaust of car and "bumper and fender of car". On the contrary, prices for meat products, vegetable oil, molasses and bagasse, urea, exported fertilizers and nitrogen compounds, industrial adhesive, copper concentrate and gas meter declined. Services: Increases in the indices of goods transport via railways (abroad), movie ticket, pre-primary school tuition fees and services of physicians in practitioner visit mainly led to a 0.3-percent rise in the services group. 2
