  3. Producer Price Index in Iran Farvardin 1395 (1390 = 100) The Producer Price Index (PPI) went up 0.2 percent in Farvardin 1395 following an increase of 0.6 percent in Esfand 1394. The index level of 216.3 was 3.5 percent higher than in Farvardin 1394. The Producer Price Index has advanced 4.5 percent over the last twelve months. Agriculture, forestry and fishing: In Farvardin, a 1.2-percent decrease in the prices of this group can be traced to the falls in the indices for eggplant, carrot, animal production and Persian Gulf fish. In contrast, prices for fresh broad beans, lettuce, greengage and Caspian Sea fish went up. Manufacturing: The Manufacturing group index moved up 1.7 percent, which was mostly due to the growths in the indices for pasteurized cheese, floating paper, benzene, toluene, propylene, manufacture of exported basic chemicals, "manufacture of plastics and synthetic rubber in primary forms", dermatological medicine, herbal medicine, "sponge, integral and foam", "manufacture of basic iron and steel", copper products, zinc ingot, burrow, metal cans, transformer, cooler, ventilator, cooler of car, shock absorber of car and "bumper and fender of car". On the contrary, prices for slaughter poultry, pickles, sole leather, carbon black, methanol, acetic acid, linear alkyl benzene, urea, polyester fibers, cement sleeper and steel casting products declined. 1
  4. Services : Decrease in the index of bus trip fare mainly led to 1.0 percent fall in the services group. In this group, the prices of accommodation, movies admission and "funeral and related activities" rose. 2
