3. Producer Price Index in Iran Esfand 1396 (1390 = 100) The Producer Price Index (PPI) went up 1.5 percent in Esfand 1396 following an increase of 1.1 percent in Bahman 1396. The index level of 265.5 was 12.8 percent higher than in Esfand 1395. On average, the Producer Price Index in 1396 increased 10.5 percent compared to the previous year. Agriculture, forestry and fishing: In Esfand, a 1.5-percent increase in the prices of this group can be traced to the rises in the indices for cucumber, eggplant, animal production and Persian Gulf fish. In contrast, prices for oranges and Caspian Sea fish went down. Manufacturing: The Manufacturing group index moved up 1.4 percent, which was mostly due to the rises in the indices for slaughter poultry, dried pistachio, dried tea, livestock and poultry feed, cigarette, spinning of thread, fustian fabric, paper, carton and carton sheet, crude oil, toluene, linear alkyl benzene, urea, manufacture of plastics and synthetic rubber in primary forms (domestic use), manufacture of soap and detergents, tire thread, disposable wares, plastic pipe and fittings, bricks and clay, manufacture of basic iron and steel, aluminium ingot, zinc ingot, boiler except central heating, metal cans, transformer, AC transformer and surge protector, 1
4. battery of car , aluminium cable, industrial burners, grader and trailer. On the contrary, prices for fruit compotes, methanol, glass, copper concentrate, and outlet and socket declined. Services: Increases in the indices of urban bus trip fare, freight by truck, air travel fare, inns cost, dental services, and hairdressing and other beauty treatment mainly led to 1.5 percent rise in the services group. 2
