3. Export Price Index in Iran Ordibehesht 1396 (1390 = 100) The Export Price Index (XPI) increased 0.1 percent in Ordibehesht 1396 following a 0.8 percent rise in Farvardin 1396. The index level of 241.2 was 15.5 percent higher than in Ordibehesht 1395. During the first two months of the current Iranian year, the XPI rose 14.7 percent compared to the similar period in 1395. The XPI has advanced 2.2 percent over the past twelve months. In Ordibehesht, the animal products group index went up 0.3 percent. The 2.3 percent increase in the vegetable products group index was mainly due to the rises in the prices for pistachio, raisin, and date. In this group, the price for saffron decreased. The group index for animal or vegetable fats and oils turned up 1.2 percent. During this month, the prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco group index and the mineral products group index moved down 0.4 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively. Mostly as a result of decreasing in the prices for methanol and urea fertilizer the products of the chemical or allied industries group index declined 1.0 percent. In this group, the rises in the prices for styrene, ammonia and "detergent powders and liquids" were also considerable. The group index for plastics and articles thereof, rubber and articles thereof reduced 0.3 percent.  The index is computed on the Iranian Rial basis. In this month, the exchange rate of Dollar decreased 0.2 percent while the exchange rate of Euro increased 2.0 percent. 1

In Ordibehesht , the skins and leather and articles thereof group index, the wood and articles of wood group index and the textiles and textile articles group index, rose 1.2 percent, 4.8 percent and 0.4 percent, respectively. During this month, the group index for footwear went down 0.6 percent. The group indexes for "the articles of stone" and "the base metals and articles of base metal", each moved up 0.7 percent in Ordibehesht. The machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment group index fell 0.3 percent, while the vehicles and associated transport equipment group index had no change, over this month. 2
