Press Release 2017 ‫ ديســـمبر‬11 ،‫ اإلثنين‬:‫التاريخ‬ Date: Monday, 11th Dec. 2017 The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the UAE held its 8th meeting for 2017 at 2017 9:30am on Sunday, 10 December 2017, at th 10 the Central Bank Head Office – Abu Dhabi, 2017 under the chairmanship of H.E. Khalifa Mohammed Al Kindi, Chairman of the Board. The meeting was attended by H.E. Khalid Juma Al Majid, Deputy Chairman, H.E. Mubarak Rashed Al Mansoori, the Governor, and Board members; Their Excellencies Younis Haji Al Khoori, Khalid Mohammed Salem Balama, Khalid Ahmad Al Tayer, as well as by Their Excellencies Mohamad Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Deputy Governor, Saif Hadef Al Shamsi, Assistant Governor and a group of senior Central Bank staff. 31
2. The Board discussed the following topics : - Central Bank’s Operational Plan for 2018 2018. - HR regulations, policies, and procedures. - Central Bank’s Transformation. And took appropriate decisions in respect thereof. The Board also reviewed Central Bank’s Q3 Report for the year 2017, presented by the Research & Statistics Department. The report covered international economic developments, domestic economic developments, financial stability indicators, banking liquidity, monetary reserves management, and payment systems developments. 2017 The board instructed publication of the report on the Central Bank’s Website. The Board also discussed some topics presented by Financial Stability Department regarding preparedness for and management of financial crises and the results of local banks’ stress tests, and took necessary measures and actions. 32
3. The Board reviewed applications submitted by banks & other financial institutions operating in the UAE. The Board approved the applications that fulfilled the conditions as per applicable law and regulations for each individual activity. :‫كما اطلع المجلـــس على التقارير اآلتيــــة‬ The Board also reviewed the following reports: - Internal Audit Department’s Quarterly )2017 ‫ـ تقرير دائرة التدقيق الداخلي الربعي (سبتمبر‬ Report (September 2017). - External auditor’s report on the Central ‫ـ تقري ر المدقـ ـق الـ ارلي بنــ ـال البيا ا المالي ة‬ Bank’s financial statements as at .2017 ‫ سبتمبر‬30 ‫للمصرف المركزي كما في‬ 30 September 2017. The Board also discussed, and approved the ‫ه ا وق د اقم المجل س ّيزا ي ة المص رف المرك زي‬ Central Bank’s budget for the financial year .‫ وقام باعتمادها‬2018 ‫التقديرية للسنة المالية‬ 2018. The Board completed the discussion of the remaining topics listed on its agenda, as well as other topics, and took appropriate decisions in this regard. 33
