Producer Price Index (2010=100) by Sector (MSIC 2008) The Producer Price Index (PPI) for local production rose 6.0 per cent on a year -on- year basis in September 2017, 0.7 points lower compared to 6.7 percent in August 2017. Among the sectors which showed significant increases during this period were Mining (+30.8%), Manufacturing (+4.7%), Agriculture, forestry & fishing (+1.5%) and Electricity & gas supply (+1.2%). Meanwhile, the index for Water supply decreased by (-0.4%). On a monthly basis, PPI for local production inclined by 1.1 per cent in September 2017. The increase was driven by three sectors namely, Mining (+10.0%), Agriculture, forestry & fishing (+3.3%) and Manufacturing (+0.2%). Meanwhile, the indices for Water supply and Electricity & gas supply registered decreases by (-0.8%) and (-0.4%) respectively. [Table I]
3. The PPI for local production by stage of processing (SOP) rose by 1.1 per cent in September 2017. This incline was due to increases in the indices for Crude materials for further processing (+4.2%), intermediate materials, supplies and components (+0.5%) and Finished goods (+0.2%). As compared with the same month a year ago, the PPI for local production by SOP for September 2017 increased 6.0 per cent. The increases were fuelled by the index for Crude materials for further processing (+11.0%), Intermediate materials, supplies and components (+6.6%) and Finished goods (+1.0%). [Table II]
