Detail Description: Pakistan Bureau of Statistics collects the retail and the wholesale prices and computes the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Wholesale Price Index (WPI) on monthly basis and Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) on weekly basis. In October, 2017 the CPI increased by 0.75%, WPI increased by 0.61% while SPI increased by 0.86% respectively. Decreased: Spinach (39.72%), Pomegranate (14.59%), Bananas (13.09%), Radish (9.59%), Cucumber (8.99%), Garlic (6.29%), Pulse Mash (5.11%), Lemon (2.17%), Pulse Moong (2.04%), Tea Lipton (1.43%), Cement (1.31%), Sugar (1.11%) and Iron bar (0.27%). Year-on-Year: Top few items which varied from previous year i.e. Sept 2016 are given below:- Increased: Onion (178.60%), Tomatoes (70.98%), Iron bar (20.47%), Tea Lipton (16.45%), Petrol (13.89%), Gas Cylinder (13.73%), Potatoes (12.16%), Private School Fee (10.73%), Unskilled Labor Wage Rate (9.63%), I.T Tution Fee (9.09 and Diesel (8.87%). Decreased: Garlic (39.01%), Pulse Mash (26.82%), Cigarette Capstan (26.52%), Cigarette Morven Gold (22.57%),Pulse Gram (21.58%), Sugar (21.17%), Pulse Masoor (18.59%), Pulse Moong (18.02%), Cucumber (17.60%), Chicken (16.68%), Gram Whole (15.21%), Besan (14.28%) and Bananas (4.57%).

Decreased: Pulse Mash (25.97%), Pulse Gram (19.30%), Sugar (18.43%), Pulse Masoor (18.10%), Pulse Moong (18.00%), Cigarettes (16.38%), Besan (13.44%) and Gur (9.36%). 1. Core inflation of CPI i. Trimmed Core Inflation During the month of October, 2017 over September, 2016, the trimmed core inflation has been observed as 4.0% while it was 3.8% during October, 2016 over October, 2015. ii. Non-Food & Non-Energy Core Inflation During the month of October, 2017 over October, 2016, the Non-food & Non-energy core inflation has been observed as 5.3% while it was 5.2% during October, 2016 over October, 2015
