3. Producer Price Index in Iran Bahman 1396 (1390 = 100) The Producer Price Index (PPI) went up 1.1 percent in Bahman 1396 following the same increase of 1.1 percent in Dey 1396. The index level of 261.6 was 11.9 percent higher than in Bahman 1395. For the first 11 months of 1396, the PPI edged up 10.3 percent, compared to the similar period in 1395. This index moved up 10.2 percent for the 12 months ended in Bahman 1396. Agriculture, forestry and fishing: In Bahman, a 0.7-percent increase in the prices of this group can be traced to the rises in the indices for sweet lemon, tangerines, egg, Persian Gulf fish and hydrothermal fish. In contrast, prices for eggplant, lettuce and oranges went down. Manufacturing: The Manufacturing group index moved up 2.3 percent, which was mostly due to the rises in the indices for slaughter poultry, dried pistachio, oil cake, fustian fabric, kraft paper, tissue paper, jet propulsion fuel (type 4), processing oil, manufacture of basic chemicals (domestic use), exported ammonia, manufacture of plastics and synthetic rubber in primary forms (domestic use), exported Polystyrene, polyester fibers, manufacture of plastic products, ceramic, cement sleeper, manufacture of basic iron and 1
4. steel , copper products, aluminium ingot, lead and zinc products, pressure tanks and central heating boilers, metal cans, CD and DVD, cooler electromotor, transformer, high voltage outlet, copper wire, copper cable, outlet and socket, lift, cooler, lathe machine, radiator of car and shock absorber. On the contrary, prices for molasses and bagasse, alcohol-free beer, raffinate, pesticides and insecticides, ordinary brick, sink and fluorescent induction lamp declined. Services: Decrease in the index of air travel fare (abroad) mainly led to 0.6 percent fall in the services group. 2
