3. Export Price Index in Iran Bahman 1395 (1390 = 100) The Export Price Index (XPI) decreased 1.5 percent in Bahman 1395 following a 4.2 percent rise in Dey 1395. The index level of 242.0 was 11.8 percent higher than that in Bahman 1394. During the first eleven months of the current Iranian year, the XPI declined 4.2 percent compared to the similar period in 1394. The XPI has fallen 5.4 percent over the past twelve months. In Bahman, the animal products group index fell 6.4 percent, which was attributed to the decreases in the prices for yogurt, frozen fish, and shrimp. The vegetable products group index increased 1.1 percent, mainly due to the rise in the price for pistachio. In this group, the decreases in the prices for saffron and raisin were also considerable. The animal or vegetable fats and oils group index turned down 7.0 percent, over this month. Lower prices for hydrogenated oil and soya oil were the major factors for this decline. The 3.0 percent decrease in the prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco group index was mainly due to the decline in the prices for "biscuit and wafer", ice cream, cake, non-cacao chocolate, and fruit juices. The mineral products group index fell 3.2 percent, largely due to the decreases in the prices for propane, butane, industrial oil, paraffin wax and copper concentrate. In the mentioned group, the prices for cement and bitumen increased.  The index is computed on the Iranian Rial basis. In this month, the exchange rates of Dollar and Euro decreased 3.4 percent and 1.7 percent, respectively. 1
4. The products of the chemical or allied industries group index rose 2 .8 percent in Bahman. The mentioned advance was led by increases in the prices for methanol, urea fertilizer, and molybdenum-oxide, while the decreases in the prices for ammonia, styrene, "detergent powders and liquids", and dodecyl benzene were also considerable. During this month, decreases in the prices for low density polyethylene, high density polyethylene, and plastic hoses caused 5.0 percent drop in the plastics and articles thereof, rubber and articles thereof group index. The price for processed sheep skin decreased in this month, reflecting a 9.7 percent decline in the skins and leather and articles thereof group index. The wood and articles of wood group index moved down 17.6 percent over this month. The group index for textiles and textile articles turned down 3.4 percent. The mentioned decrease was led by lower prices for hand-woven carpet and machinemade carpet. As a result of decreasing in the price for "sandal with uppers of rubber or plastics", the footwear group index fell 4.0 percent. The articles of stone group index went down 2.5 percent which was principally due to the decreases in the prices for "tile and ceramic" and float glass. The products of the base metals and articles of base metal group index rose 0.6 percent during Bahman. 2
5. The machinery and mechanical appliances , electrical equipment group index turned down 3.2 percent. The decline was driven by decreasing prices for air cooler and cable. The group index for vehicles and associated transport equipment group index moved down 0.7 percent over this month 3
