  1. BIMB Invest Money Market Fund MARCH 2018 (ALL DATA AS AT 28 FEBRUARY 2018 UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED) INVESTMENT OBJECTIVE 0.06 VERY LOW 15 Feb 2018 FUND MANAGER’S REVIEW The Fund’s performance for the month was 0.26% and outperformed its benchmark by 0.07%. The money market rate for overnight is 2.95% per annum and the 1 month rate is within 3.20% to 3.30% per annum. The 3 months to 12 months rates are within 3.85% to 3.98% per annum. Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) raised the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) by 25bps to 3.25% in its January 2018 MPC meeting. The statement said that “at current level of OPR, the stance of monetary policy remains accommodative”. It is expected that BNM will maintain the OPR until year-end. BNM kept an optimistic view on global growth and the domestic economy. Inflation is expected to moderate on expectations of a smaller effect from global cost factors while a stronger Ringgit compared to 2017 will help mitigate import costs. As the Fund’s focus is on capital preservation and liquidity, we will continue to invest in money market placements and short term Sukuk papers with good credit standing and attractive yield level and extend the portfolio duration for yield enhancement. The Fund seeks to provide liquidity and current income, while maintaining capital stability by investing in instruments that comply with Shariah requirements.
