FIRST QUARTER REPORT JANUARY TO MARCH 2018 06 1 .SUMMARY FinancialResultsforthefirstquarterof2018werepositivewithOperatingProfitup11%onthesameperiodlastyeardue tosolidbusinessvolumesacrossallkeysectors.ProfitBeforeTaxwasup3%onQuarter12017despitethehigherlevelof loanprovisioningrequiredunderthenewaccountingstandard,IFRS9.ProfitBeforeTaxonanunderlying/like-for-like basisincreasedby13%.TheBank'sloanbookremainedrobustwiththeratioofnon-performingtototalloansfallingfrom 4.1%attheendof2017to3.2%.Capitalandliquidityratiosfinishedthequarterwellinexcessofregulatoryrequirements. TheBank'scommunityinvestmentprogramcontinuedduringthequarterandFebruaryalonesaw28'AharengeBank' ('MyBank')eventsheldacrossthecountrywhichsupportedcharitable,educational,sportsandenvironmentalcauses. 2.BUSINESSDEVELOPMENTS § Overthepastyear,ourBankhasbeensupportingthecommunitiesandpeopleofMaldivesinastructuredand positivewaythroughourAharengeBankprogram.Asin2017,Februarywasaparticularlyspecialmonthwitha communityeventheldeachday.These,andothereventsduringthefirstquarter,helpedcharitable,educational, sportsandenvironmentalcausesthroughoutthecountry.Additionally,theBank'sstaffraisedsignificantfundsfor the Maldives Autism Association, Beautiful Eyes Down Syndrome Association and Maldives Association for       PhysicalDisables. § InrecognitionofthepositiveimpacttheAharengeBankprogramhashadoncommunitiesacrossthecountry,the Bankreceivedthe'AwardforInvestmentinCommunities'attheprestigiousCorporateMaldivesGold100Gala, whichwasheldinFebruary. § TheBank'srefurbishedbranchinVilimale'wasopenedduringthequarterandnowincludesamodernSelf-Service BankingCentrewhichoperatesona24/7basis.ThequarteralsosawnewATMsinstalledinGanInternationalAirport andHithadhooRegionalHospital.Anadditional72CashAgentswereadded,bringingourtotalagentnetwork        to277. § Aspartofourcommitmenttodeliverproductswhichmeettheevolvingneedsofourcustomers,aninnovativenew loan offering was launched. The 'Lifestyle Loan' has been designed to provide easy access to finance up to        MVR500,000tothosepropertyownerswhoreceivearentalincomefromtheirproperty.  §  WeintroducedOnlineApplicationsforanumberofkeyserviceswherebycustomerscannowapplyonlinetoopen accountsaswellastoobtaincreditcards,debitcardsandpersonalloans. §  InMarch,ourBoardofDirectorsresolvedtoproposeforshareholderapprovalatthenextAnnualGeneralMeeting (AGM)afinaldividendofMVR118,402,240amountingtoMVR22pershareforthefinancialyear2017.Thisisan increaseof10%overtheamountpaidintheprioryearandwouldrepresenttheBank'shighesteverdividend payout.TheAGMhasbeenscheduledforSunday,13thMayinMale'.
