Macroeconomic & Corporate News JEDCO, Business Development Centre sign 2 MoUs on SMEs networking The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) and the Business Development Centre (BDC) on Tuesday signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at facilitating networking of JEDCO’s beneficiaries. Under the agreements, networking would be facilitated for JEDCO’s beneficiaries from small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the programmes run by the BDC from the services of the National Self-Employment Programme “INHAD” and the development programme for “Professional Development and Employment in the Industrial Sector” funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), a JEDCO statement said. The MoUs were signed by JEDCO CEO Bashar Al Zu’bi and BDC CEO Nayef Isteitieh in the presence of representatives from both institutions. King inaugurates 300-bed military field hospital dedicated to COVID-19 patients His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Tuesday inaugurated a field hospital established on the grounds of the Royal Medical Services’ (RMS) Prince Hashim Bin Al Hussein Hospital in Zarqa Governorate. The field hospital, built at a cost of JD9 million, is dedicated to receiving COVID-19 patients, with the aim of supporting the government’s efforts in countering the pandemic, according to a Royal Court statement. King Abdullah toured the field hospital, which has a 300-bed capacity, including 48 intensive care unit beds and 12 intermediate care beds ready to be converted into ICU beds. His Majesty, accompanied by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, was briefed on the field hospital’s medical capabilities and the capacities of its qualified medical and administrative personnel.
