Macroeconomic & Corporate News Easing of Jordanian visa restrictions on Indian nationals Stakeholders on Tuesday praised the government’s decision to ease visa restrictions on Indian nationals, who can now obtain visa upon arrival at crossings and airports.The Jordan Investment Commission announced on Monday that it had confirmed the new measure with the Interior Ministry, noting in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that Indians can now receive visas directly through Jordanian diplomatic missions or choose to obtain a visa upon arrival to the Kingdom.The Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents (JSTA) President Mohammad Samih commended the measure, which would increase the numbers of visitors from the subcontinent. Jordan to secure 5-year U.S. aid pledge -Jordanian official Jordan will secure a promise of five more years of U.S. financial aid in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to be signed in Amman on Wednesday during a visit by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, a Jordanian official said. The previous such MoU was for three years. The new, non-binding MoU secures a minimum $1.275 billion per year from 2018, said the official, who declined to be named because the details had yet to be officially announced.
