HIGHLIGHTS Manufacturing Sales registered RM52 .3 billion in July 2016 The sales value of the Manufacturing sector in July 2016 decreased 3.4% (RM1.8 billion) to record RM52.3 billion as compared to RM54.1 billion reported a year ago. Total employees engaged in the Manufacturing sector in July 2016 was 1,024,823 persons, an increase of 0.1% or 1,007 persons as compared to 1,023,816 persons in July 2015. Salaries & wages paid in July 2016 increased by 6.5% (RM192.4 million) to record RM3,162.7 million. Productivity decreased by 3.5% to record RM51,001 as compared with the same month of the previous year. *Notes: Data for Julyis provisional.
