Definition of "Muqaradah Bonds"

Non-interest-bearing financial instruments, initially issued by the Government of Jordan in 1981, which share the profit of the project financed with the funds raised through them. The Government of Jordan guaranteed the nominal value of the bonds. The bonds were repayable over a period of time from out of the profits of the venture in which the funds were deployed.
