Definition of "Bai‘ al-muwasafah"

Sale of goods that has not been possessed, or sale of goods by describing them without any inspection and possession, the delivery being made later, after the vendor himself had bought them. In this mode of bargaining, the commodity is not present. It is also known as bai‘ al-murawadah. This is one of the type of bai‘ al-gharar.
