Definition of "Al-mal al-mustafad"

Relating to the law of zakah, the property which was not in one’s possession in the beginning of the assessment year but came into one’s possession during the year. Examples are monthly salary, wages, bonus, gratis receipts, etc. There is a controversy in the law about applicability of zakah on it.
