Definition of "Al-israf"

Lit: Intemperance, immoderateness, exaggeration, waste. Tech: Covers: (i) spending on lawful objects but exceeding moderation in quantity or quality; (ii) spending on superfluous objects while necessities are unfulfilled; and (iii) spending on objects which are incompatible with the economic standard of the majority of the population.
