Definition of "Al-Infaq al-tatawwu"
Lit: Voluntary spending. Tech: refers to voluntary spending in the cause of Allah or for helping the needy people. It is used in comparison to obligatory spending (nafaqat al-wajibah) where one has an obligation to bear the expenses of his relatives and dependents.
