Al-’ard al-mahmiyah
Definition of "Al-’ard al-mahmiyah"
Land in a village set aside for establishing streets, markets, recreational parks, festival grounds, etc. The purpose of such land could be general or specific such as for grazing. The property rights of such land remain with the bait al-mal. The land so marked cannot be sold. The state has the responsibility to regulate its use. See also al-hima.
