Malaysia Allocates Funds for Development of the National Halal Industry in 2022

Datuk Lim Ban Hong, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), has said that the Government of Malaysia has allocated MYR 12.6 million (USD 3.0 million) for the development of the national Halal industry for 2022.
Why it Matters?
The development projects under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), to boost the Halal industry, include the following: human capital competency and Halal sectoral knowledge development projects, Home Grown Halal Champion - Sourcing Partnership project, Malaysia Global Halal Show: Bridging Halal Markets project, and Halal industry training programme.
