MAIWP Allocates MYR 3.27 Million in Zakat Funds in Response to COVID-19

The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) has allocated MYR 3.27 million in Zakat funds for seven hospitals under its authority.

In a statement given by the Chairman of MAIWP, Datuk Seri Syed Hussein Alhabshee, it was stated that this allocation has been made for the purpose of procuring health and medical equipment for the aforementioned hospitals, following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Syed Hussein further stated that the aid will be in the form of breathing apparatus such as ICU ventilators, Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BIPAP) machines, and home ventilators, amongst other equipment.
