Indonesia Receives Financing worth USD 250 Million from the World Bank for COVID-19 Relief

The Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank (WB) announced their decision to provide a USD 250 million loan to assist Indonesia in its COVID-19 relief efforts. The WB stated that the funds would be used to enhance intensive care capacity, increase the supply of personal protective equipment, as well as improve the laboratory network and surveillance systems, in order to better prepare Indonesia against future outbreaks of infectious diseases.

According to the WB, the primary beneficiaries of the funding would be vulnerable and high-risk individuals, such as senior citizens and patients with pre-existing chronic conditions, as well as the frontline healthcare providers.
