Indonesia and the Philippines Finalising MoU to Facilitate Trading of Halal Goods

Indonesia and the Philippines are currently finalising a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to assist Filipino exporters to comply with Indonesia’s Law of Halal Product Assurance, according to a statement issued by the Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on the 9th of March 2021.

Why it matters?

The MoU, which is in its final stages, will facilitate trading of Halal-certified goods through a government-to-government (G2G) arrangement between Indonesia and the Philippines.
