It is permissible to combine more than one contract in a single transaction as long as each of these contracts is permissible on its own. This is so because freedom of contracting and honoring commitments is acknowledged in principle by the general teachings and directives of Shariah, unless such contracts and commitments lead to violation of Shariah rulings. Ibn Al-Qayyim said, “It is permissible in principle to form up contracts and conditions, except for what has been prohibited by Shariah.”
