Dr Abdul Sattar Abu Ghuddah

Dr Abdul Sattar Abu Ghuddah started his career in Shariah as a lecturer at Imam Al-Da'wa Institute in Riyadh, Religious Institute in Kuwait, and Shariah College of Law Faculty in Kuwait University. Dr Abu Ghuddah was a member and expert of the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Saudi Arabia. He was also a member of the Fatwa Board in the Kuwait Ministry from 1982-1990. While on the Fatwa Board, Dr Abu Ghuddah contributed to research that was needed to create the Fiqh Encyclopedia in Kuwait. He sat on several Shariah Advisory Boards including the Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Institutions (AAOIFI), BNP Paribas, Al Rayan Bank, Aljazira Capital, S&P Dow Jones, Jordan Islamic Bank, Masraf Al Rayan Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank, Banque Saudi Fransi, Bank Nizwa, Medgulf Takaful, Solidarity Bahrain and many more. Dr Abu Ghuddah was active in writing articles and has authored numerous publications regarding Islamic Finance. Dr Abdul Sattar Abu Ghuddah has passed away Friday, October 23rd, 2020.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Shariah (1964) from University of Damascus, Bachelor's Degree in Law (1965) from University of Damascus, Master's Degree in Shariah (1964) from Al-Azhar University, Master's Degree in Ulum Al-Hadith (1967) from Al-Azhar University, and PhD in Shariah (Comparative Mazhab) (1975) from Al-Azhar University.
