  1. MENA Morning Report Tuesday , March 27, 2018 Overview Regional Markets: MENA region closed on a negative note as five out of the eight indexes closed in red, while three in green for the day. The regional investors are trying to digest multiple news flows, which are weighing on sentiments across the regional markets. The news of seven missiles shot down by Saudi Arabia was offset by the reports that US and China have started negotiations to improve access to Chinese markets. For the day, UAE markets have ended on a mixed note as Dubai was down by 0.4%, while Abu Dhabi closed higher by 0.8% for the day. Dubai remained in red for the second consecutive session, while Abu Dhabi extended the gains to 1.6% in the past two sessions to turn the losses incurred during the month into gains. Saudi Arabia remained in the positive territory despite all the news as the index managed to close higher by 0.2% for the day after ending flat in the previous session. The index was mostly supported by 0.7% rise in petchem sector stocks, while the banking sector stocks witnessed a downward pressure during the session. Egypt closed on a positive note as it was up by 0.7% for the day, recovering the losses of 0.5% recorded in the previous session. Kuwait closed marginally lower by 0.1% for the day, the second consecutive session of losses, which is in line with the regional trend. Bahrain and Oman were both down by 0.7% and 0.9% respectively for the day. Qatar also closed in red as the index was down by 0.5% for the day, extending the losses to 1.3% in the previous two sessions. International Markets: US markets ended on a positive note as DJIA, S&P and Nasdaq were all up by 2.8%, 2.7% and 3.3% respectively for the day. European markets closed on a negative note as FTSE, CAC and DAX closed lower by 0.5%, 0.6% and 0.8% respectively for the day.
