Definition of "Kira al-ard"
Lit: Rent of land. Tech: Lease of land against wheat, whether produced on this land or procured otherwise by the tenant. This was in vogue in the pre-Islamic Arabia. It became a source of public revenue in later periods as a return from the public lands.
