Definition of "Diwan al-mustaghallat"
An administrative office established by the Ummayyads (AD 661–750) to administer state lands, including government properties in cities and villages and their rents. It is likely, however, that this diwan may have been a small department attached to the larger and more important diwan al-kharaj.
