Definition of "Al-iqtiyat"

Lit: Foodstuff. Tech: Relating to the law of riba al-fadl. According to some jurists, one of the causes for the prohibition of riba al-fadl lies in the articles of exchange being foodstuff (al-iqtiyat). See also riba al-fadl.
