Definition of "Al-ihsan"

Lit: Beneficence. Tech: Al-'ihsan is to accept readily and ungrudgingly while receiving, a smaller share than what is due and to give, while paying back, a share larger than what is due. AI-’ihsan is an important value of the Muslim society. It is over and above the legal equality of justice (al-‘adl) and is practised voluntarily.
