Definition of "Al-hilm"

Lit: Being mild, gentle, clement. Restraining oneself at a time when the spirit is roused to anger. Tech: Relating to mutual relations of trade, employment and qard (debt), the aggrieved party is required to keep his cool and show al-hilm towards others. It is one of the values of the Muslim society.
