Definition of "Al-‘arida"

Pertaining to the fiscal administration of the ‘Abbasids (AD 750–945), a register containing information about expected and actual receipts and payments. It contained three columns: the estimated yield (‘asl ); the actual yield (istikhraj); and the difference between the two.
