Bank Islam Malaysia Receives 10,000 Applications for Moratorium Extensions from the Retail Segment

Bank Islam Malaysia (BIM) announced that 10,000 applications have been received from the retail segment between August and the 14th of September 2020, requesting an extension of the moratorium period, which is set to expire on the 30th of September 2020.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at BIM, Mohd Muazzam Mohamed, urged all of BIM’s customers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to get in touch with BIM immediately to make necessary arrangements. According to Mohamed, the current application process, which takes four working days, could get delayed if customer documentation is incomplete.
